In this 2 hour workshop with artist Laura Denny, students will learn and utilize Andy Warhol’s blot printing technique to spontaneously build layers of paint as a background upon which to build a painting. Blot prints are created by transferring scribbles and blobs of acrylic paint from a sheet of tracing paper to canvas.
- The most important is liquid acrylic paint in a squeeze bottle. Liquid acrylic paint can be purchased (Cheap Delta Ceramcoat sets at Michaels) in a squeeze bottle or liquid acrylic paint can be transferred to squeeze bottles (to be found at the dollar store). Get at least three colors of your choice, plus black in squeeze bottles
- Deli paper (Smart and Final) or tracing paper
- Black and white paint
- Painter’s tape
- Canvas, canvas paper, Bristol paper, acrylic paper, or mixed media paper (You only need paper of your personal preference)
In the event that you are unable to attend a class or tour, a full refund for registration fees may be issued if your request is received at least 45 days before your program start date. If your request is received within 44 to 11 days of your program start date we will refund 50%. If you need to cancel within 10 days or less, unfortunately no refund can be issued. Certain programs and events are transferable to another person. If a program is cancelled by The Lynda Fairly Carpinteria Arts Center, we will issue a full refund. Please be aware that some programs are non-refundable and this information will be specifically noted in the program description.
