The title "Correspondences" represents collaboration and communication - both between two close friends and artists, and between the two art forms of photographic image and poem. Their project documents the meeting of past and present as ancient Southeast Asian cultures collide with globalization and technology. Fifteen years after the original exhibition, the fragility of landscapes, species, and cultures Clarke witnessed in Laos and Thailand has only intensified.
