Just over a year ago the famous General Sherman, the largest known living single-stem tree, was being wrapped in foil to protect it from wildfire. I started working on this painting of the tree and wanted it to look like trees are making their own abstract propaganda to protect themselves. General Sherman made it out okay. The foil was not made by Reynolds, it actually has carbon fiber and Kevlar backing!
