I knew Gisela's husband's beautiful photo of her in front of her taqueria on Linden had to be the focal point of my collage, featuring architectural elements of both Carpinteria, where her father (Don Roge) has been in the food business for decades, and Guanajuato, Mexico, where her mother's family prepared and served food for generations. I hoped to convey her love of that family tradition.
