Description from the artist:

What will our new world look like in the future?

This art piece was inspired by all the emotions I felt as the pandemic began to unfold his past March. I was trying to find a sense of some normalcy in a world where our north and south was turned on its axis.

First I started by creating the world from a table my husband found on the side of a street and misc scrap pieces of metal I had in my stockpile. Once the world was completed the pandemic was raging full force throughout America and the world. I had so many emotions running through my head as I started on the lower half.

This art piece became a therapeutic way to release my fears and uncertainties and to connect with God. I carved out the crack from a piece of plywood and used modeling paste and paint to create the energy of destruction which represented the human loss and suffering from the virus. As I worked on the bottom half I prayed for healing and strength for our world. I finished it just as the numbers were starting to subside in America many other countries.

The final top half represents the beginning of healing process, the white flowing out of the earth represents all the examples of kindness and pure love we have all witnessed in our communities and throughout the world. A heartfelt thank you to all of those working on the front lines who heal, protect and provide for our essential needs.
