CALL FOR AUTHORS

The Carpinteria Festival of Books is an opportunity for local-area authors to meet and speak with readers, and display, sign, and sell their work. Co-sponsored by The Carpinteria Writer’s Group and the Lynda Fairly Carpinteria Arts Center, this free public festival is open to traditionally and self-published authors. Participation requires membership at the Arts Center.*

When: Saturday, March 23, Noon-4:00pm

Where: Lynda Fairly Carpinteria Arts Center Courtyard, 865 Linden Ave, Carpinteria, CA 93013

Application Deadline: March 1, 2024

*Fee: Participation requires a membership at the Lynda Fairly Carpinteria Arts Center. Memberships start at $50; a limited number of scholarships are available. https://carpinteriaartscenter.org/member

How to Apply: Complete that application form by March 1.

Space is limited. Applicants will be notified of acceptance on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Include a brief description of your book including genre and short author bio.

Authors are responsible for pricing and collecting payment for their books including sales tax collection and payment. They are also responsible for bringing their own display table (up to 8foot table) and promotional materials. Two chairs per space will be provided by the organizers.

 

Note: This is a rain or shine event. Canopies are prohibited in the courtyard but standing umbrellas are allowed.

The Carpinteria Writer’s Group supports the efforts of local authors with discussion and feedback sessions, readings, and other events. Meetings are weekly, 10:00am-Noon, in the Carpinteria Library Community Room. New members are always welcome.

 

The Lynda Fairly Carpinteria Arts Center is a community arts and events center in the heart of downtown Carpinteria, CA.  As a mission-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we serve the community by providing a venue for creative arts education, exhibition, and appreciation as well as providing a city-center location for the community to gather.
