Maximize Guest Experience: Pro Tips for Planning Your Carpinteria Arts Center Private Event Layout
With our large courtyard providing the perfect canvas for almost any type of private event, here are some of our pro tips when planning your layout to maximize guest experience:
- Consider heavy traffic areas such as the bar and buffets and don't put them near the entrance or backed up close to one another or guest dining... think crowds, lines, and what they will bump into when crowds gather around them.
- Offering guests tray-passed beverages when they enter helps to hold off the initial rush to the bar by diffusing it with a drink in everyone's hand as they enter.
- Doublesided buffets help keep down long lines: just make sure there is ample room on both sides for guests to get their food.
- For buffet service, have your caterer or a designated guest dismiss tables to go the buffet (it is recommended that 2-3 tables at a time be invited and generally the next 2-3 tables are invited to go to the buffet when the last person in the current line is just starting to dish up their food ) to help manage a large rush of the entire guest list arriving at the buffet at once.
- Be mindful of where you place speakers for your DJ or band and that they aren't right at a table of guests.
- All venues have fire codes for exits and more- make sure your layout plan includes pathways and a plan to allow for these.
- Signage is an event host's best friend. Elevated (think floor signs) or other types of signs telling guests where the restrooms are located, where the bar is, a sign at the bar & buffet indicating what is being served. Signs offer a gracious way to direct traffic when you can't have a team of hired hosts at every post to direct traffic.
