Description from the Artist:
California is experiencing the impact of climate change, with thousands of native oak trees dying yearly for various reasons. "Standing and Fallen" was inspired by the rapidly changing landscape of the Central Coast. In our culture, we have been habitually taught to interiorize the notion of "a bright future." Despite its seemingly vibrant appearance, the artwork addresses the subjects of vulnerability and anxiety.
