Description from the Artist: Some years ago, I inherited a 70-year-old stamp collection, featuring stamps from all over the world. Old stamps are little works of art in their own right. I've been wanting to make a piece of art using them. My work consists of a lot of layers and texture. The base of this piece is several layers of acrylic paint, into which I scratched the lyrics of a song I was listening to. I then enlarged the stamps using a photocopier and collaged the copies along with some of the actual stamps, with additional layers of acrylic paint.
