Description: The beauty of a healthy ecosystem is that it works together for optimum survival. Our California Native Plants are a visually enchanting example of this. With breathtaking colors, they embody a remarkable diversity in form, size, intricacy, and aroma.

And sometimes, in the process of dyeing, they are surprising color-shifters. The background scroll was done with a deep blue Ceanothus mountain lilac.

The main scroll was created with a variety of flowers, some of which revealed hidden hues, while others released no color at all. This scroll holds the essence of 20 of the 8,500+ plants and trees in the California Native Plant Society's interactive Calscape database.

Both scrolls are suspended from a birch limb, adding a hard contrast to the lightness and movement of the habotai silk, known for its delicate plain weave, subtle sheen, and soft, natural drape.

This art should be displayed away from direct sunlight.
