Description: This 6-color linocut features a Great Blue Heron -one of my favorite birds to spot around the Carpinteria Salt Marsh - among some purple irises. I carved and hand-printed each layer, slowly building up the image with overlapping colors. The heron's graceful posture and watchful presence always stop me in my tracks, and I wanted to capture that quiet moment in this bold, graphic medium.
