Description: Earth Day Emergent is a geometric sculpture that takes the form of a compound of five tetrahedra. Its design is deeply rooted in the history of the environmental movement, drawing inspiration from the devastating oil spill that motivated the very first Earth Day, while simultaneously reflecting the enduring optimism of the hippy movement. The piece combines the imagery of the iconic microbus with the vibrant rainbow of colors that emerge when tar bubbles up through the beach and is kissed by ocean waves, capturing a transformative moment in time.
