Each chakra matches a specific color of the rainbow to help anchor visual focus. The repetitive motion of geometric layers fosters a rhythmic, calming state of mindfulness. Softening your eyes on the mandala's center pulls attention inward and clears chaotic thoughts. The wooden canvas was made from a reclaimed wooden fence. It was painted using a "drip" technique, then sanded down to reveal a smooth, worn surface underneath. It was painted using a technique pioneered by the Abstract Expressionist painter Jackson Pollock (1912-1956). Pollock believed artistic creation comes from the inner self, emotion, and subconscious rhythm of the mind. He viewed the artist not as an observer, but as a direct force of nature, channeling universal energy into his paintings.
